  1. The Pegasus World Cup has a $12 million prize, more than any other Pure Blood race in the world. The winner takes home $7 million, the second $1.75 million, for the third $1 million and $250,000 for all other competing horses.
  2. The race is organized by Gulfstream Park, the main circuit of South Florida. The track also has a casino, shops, restaurants, a bowling alley and a 473-ton statue of a winged Pegasus killing a 242-ton dragon.
